Sports Therapy

“If you keep ignoring the whispers from your body,
eventually, you'll be forced to deal with its screams” – Unknown

Even if the name “Sports Therapy” could make you think about athletes, it is not necessary to be an athlete to benefit from the Sports Therapy.

Sports Therapy is suitable for anyone suffering from muscle and joint injury or chronic conditions.

Using Sports Therapy I help athletes and people who have suffered from an injury, surgery, or who suffer from chronic diseases, to take their lives back.

Sports Therapy will not only address the source of your pain, it will improve your whole life as well.

Whether you are an athlete struggling with an injury, an office employee suffering from back pain, sciatica, joint pain, or someone who needs to get ready for/or recover from surgery, Sports Therapy can help you to take your life back, regaining wellbeing and health.

Sports Therapy can be the solution for common conditions such as:

  • muscle and joint stiffness/pain/sprains

  • muscle tears

  • injuries to muscles, ligaments and tendons

  • overload injuries (e.g. tennis elbow)

  • pre-habilitation before surgery

  • rehabilitation after surgery

  • back pain

  • sciatic

  • poor posture

  • muscle imbalance

If you need to recover from an injury, suffer from muscle and joint disorders, or are in that situation where "darnit! This is not me anymore", "how did I get to this point?", "why doesn't the pain go away?” If not even your doctor gave you hope and said something like: «hang up your boots», «game over» or «this problem is chronic, you need to learn to live with it», the way out may be Sports Therapy.
It doesn't matter if you are an athlete or an inactive person, I can help you to take your life back. I will do so thanks to my experience and my attention to clients. Following an evidence-based approach, I will use physical activity and manual therapy to build a bespoke rehabilitation plan for you.

How does sports therapy work?

Health status

Before our first appointment, I will ask you to fill out a form to assess your health status and confirm the consent to treatment.

The first appointment

The initial appointment will last a maximum of 90 minutes. During this time I will ask you a few questions to assess your medical history, clarify your health condition and figure out your lifestyle. Then I will ask you for more details about the injury/condition you want me to treat. I will perform a physical assessment and some tests to understand the source of your problem and how to fix it. If necessary, I will perform a manual treatment.

Once the problem has been identified, I will work on a rehabilitation plan according to your needs. What happens afterwards will depend on the problem I have encountered. There are injuries and conditions that can be resolved in the short term with manual therapy only or with specific exercises to be performed at home on a regular basis. However, complex conditions require more time and gym sessions and manual therapy on a weekly basis.

Gym session

During the gym sessions I will teach you how to perform the exercises following the right technique. I will answer all your questions about the rehabilitation plan and encourage you to give your best to help you achieve your goal as soon as possible.
In the beginning you will feel like some exercises are very hard to perform. No worries, because with my support you will be able to improve and achieve performances that you can’t even imagine now. One of the advantages of one-to-one sessions is that I can immediately understand if an exercise is not giving you the desired benefits. This will allow me to immediately make some changes to your plan to fit your needs.

I will not give you an exercise plan telling you to do it by yourself and come back in a few weeks for a follow-up appointment. Following my client step by step in their journey and making sure that they get the most out of their plan is essential for me. To do so, in addition to face-to-face sessions, I ask for feedback on a weekly basis and make myself available during working hours to answer all your questions via WhatsApp.

With me, you will never be alone!

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

I had plenty of massages before, but nobody has ever assessed my posture before a massage, and that was a very welcome addition to a really relaxing and effective session. I found Valentina professional, trustworthy and capable; at the end of the treatment I was so relaxed that I was ready for a nap, and the fact that Valentina came to my place meant that I could actually have a lie-down and feel even more refreshed afterwards! Highly recommended.
